I believe Spring is God showing His favor on us. In the cold depths of winter (and even some days of spring recently), we have experienced harsh winds and extreme temperatures. Just like times of hardship when the end is nowhere in sight, when we can’t see what’s ahead of us, the Lord graciously sees us, has favor on us, and delivers us to safety.
"...but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning." -Psalm 30:5
Spring is my safety. The newness of fresh grass growing, flowers blooming, and birds chirping before the sun rises fills my heart with joy that only comes from the Lord. The refreshing renewal of Spring reminds me of my first encounter with the Lord. It reminds me of how life used to be and how God has made it new. This truth is worth celebrating!
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. "But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create Jerusalem for rejoicing And her people for gladness” - Isaiah 65:17-19
The month of May we are celebrating so many great things: Mission and Music Recognitions, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, and a time to be together as a church family. Mark your calendars for these events, rejoice in the renewal that Spring brings, and be thankful we serve a Lord that restores.
“Restore us to You, O LORD, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old.”
