Sweet Life Cafe is a place where women slow down and savor time with God and each other.  It feels like a cozy day at your favorite coffee shop--a place where women can find rest, laughter, share their stories, and grow closer to each other and God.  

Sweet Life Cafe is a complete retreat for women of all ages.  It includes worship, Bible study, activity and more.  The schedule is:

Friday

4:00 - 6:30 Arrival & Check-in at Windermere

7:00 - 9:00 Food for the Heart:  Session 1, followed by Sweet Talk

9:00 - 11:00 Free time for snacks, board games, jigsaw puzzles, talking and laughing

SATURDAY

7:30 - 8:30 Breakfast Windermere Dining Hall

8:30 - 9:00 Personal Devotion Time

9:00 - 11:00 Food for the Heart:  Session 2, followed by Savory Moments

11:00 - 12:00 Free Time

12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Windermere Dining Hall

1:00 - 3:00 Food for the Heart:  Session 3, followed by Spicy Service

3:00 -3:30 Sweet Send Off

The founding fathers and mothers of University Heights believed that followers of Christ should not be limited by labels, including that of male and female.  Along with Paul, we believe "There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male or female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."   Women at University Heights serve as staff ministers, deacons, committee chairs and in all leadership positions. 

Ministries planned to meet the specific needs of women at University Heights include Women's Bible Study; Women's Mission Groups; Girls Mission Groups and a Women's Choir.

WOMEN'S bible study groups

Two different Women's Bible Study groups meet. One on Tuesday evening and one on Thursday mornings. The Tuesday study group is lead by Donna Sherrill and Diane Tucker.  They meet on the 3rd floor in The Heights Coffeehouse at University Heights designated Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  Thursday's group is led by Lori Chisholm and meets in The Heights Coffee House at University Heights from 9-11 a.m.  The Group Study  page will give you details about this semester's study for each Bible Study.  Topics vary and are relevant to women and they spiritual formation.  Child care is available for both studies with advance reservation.

Another vital women's ministry is a study designed specifically for women who have recently moved to Springfield called Just Moved. 

WOMEN'S MIssion & service groups

The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) at University Heights is a missions education organization.  Although WMU is a traditionally all women organization both men and women participate as members of the WMU at University Heights.  The stated objective of the WMU is to "encourage each woman to become and develop as God's person, build God's faith community, and serve God's world to stimulate a mission spirit in the women of the church; to endeavor by our conduct, prayer, and gifts to make Christ known to the world.
