WMU

The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) is part of a national organization founded in 1888 to encourage and give extra support to missionaries at home and around the world. Our chapter, which now also includes men, began as soon as the church was organized in 1945. It is composed of five groups which meet monthly at various times to learn about and support mission efforts. The groups also work at various hands-on projects such as packing food boxes for Convoy of Hope, distributing food and clothing at Grand Oaks Mission Center, packing gift boxes for needy children, hosting international students and sponsoring an annual household goods giveaway for them, and many other projects. WMU also promotes special missions offerings and visits by missionaries. Members of the WMU also lead the children's Wednesday evening mission groups, the Children In Action (CIAs) and preschool children's group.

WMU also partners with American Baptist Women (ABW) and this year hosted this regional group's annual conference.
